Armani Floyd Obituary Chicago Death: Homicide Investigation After Teen’s Death in City Shooting

In Loving Memory of Armani Floyd

A Life Cut Short, Forever Remembered

With heavy hearts, we share the tragic passing of Armani Floyd, a 14-year-old boy whose life was taken far too soon in a downtown Chicago shooting on Friday night. His death, ruled a homicide, has left his family, friends, and community devastated, mourning the loss of a young life filled with promise.

Armani died from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 10:59 p.m. His passing is a heartbreaking reminder of the senseless violence that continues to affect families across Chicago. As one city leader expressed, “No parent wants to get that terrible, life-altering call.” Those words reflect the unimaginable grief now carried by Armani’s loved ones. Though only 14, Armani’s presence was impactful. He was a son, a friend, and a young man with dreams yet to be fulfilled. His family remembers him for his energy, his laughter, and the joy he brought into their lives. His peers recall his kindness and the way he could brighten a room with his smile. Armani’s life, though brief, was meaningful, and his memory will remain a source of strength and love for those who knew him.

The circumstances of his death highlight the fragility of life and the urgent need for communities to come together in the face of violence. Armani was one of several teenagers injured during what police described as a “teen takeover” event downtown. While the details of that night remain under investigation, what is certain is that a family has lost their child, and a community has lost a future leader.

We extend our deepest condolences to Armani’s family and friends. May they find comfort in cherished memories and strength in the love and support of those around them. His death is a tragedy, but his life will be remembered with love, dignity, and honor.

Rest in peace, Armani Floyd. Your light was taken too soon, but it will shine forever in the hearts of those who loved you. 🕊️❤️
