With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Mr. Joseph Tierney, a beloved son, brother, devoted father, uncle, cousin, and friend. Joseph died in November 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and remarkable contributions to both his family and professional community. His death has brought deep sorrow to all who knew him, yet his memory will continue to inspire and uplift.

Joseph is survived by his sons, Ted and Abe, their mother Meghan, his parents Mary Patricia and Thomas, his siblings Sean (Kylene) and their daughter Devin, Matthew, Colleen (Jonathan) and their children Oliver, Emerson, and Wesley, as well as his loving partner of many years, Corrie. His family was the center of his world, and his devotion to them was evident in every aspect of his life.

A graduate of Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, Joseph earned both his BS and MBA before embarking on a career that would leave a lasting mark on the Kansas City tech community. He worked at Cerner Corporation and Infergy before founding his own computer consulting company. Recognized for his vision and innovation, Joseph was instrumental in bringing Google Fiber to Kansas City, understanding early on the transformative potential of cloud technology. He co-founded Umzuzu in Kansas City, KS, and later established LeewardCloud in Jacksonville Beach, FL, continuing his mission to empower businesses through technology.

Beyond his professional achievements, Joseph was a man of many passions. He loved camping and hiking with his sons, mountain biking with Sean and friends, and sharing laughter with Matt and Colleen. His adventures with Corrie, from traveling to snorkeling, brought him immense joy. He was also a lover of books and animals, reflecting his curiosity and compassion.

Joseph’s legacy is defined not only by his professional accomplishments but by his love for his family and his loyalty to his friends. His warmth, humor, and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Joseph’s Life will be held at Clancy’s Pub & Butcher, 930 Kehrsmill #101, Ballwin, MO 63011, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
