In Loving Memory of Stuart Graham Smith
October 15, 1955 – November 23, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and the greatest of sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Stuart Graham Smith, who died peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the age of 70, following a brave and courageous battle with cancer. His death has left his family, friends, and community in profound grief, as they mourn the loss of a man remembered for his warmth, resilience, and devotion to those around him.
Stuart was a beloved Dad, Grandad, Brother, and Uncle, whose love for his family was unwavering. He was a devoted father to Ashley Smith and Caitlin Smith, and for over 35 years, he was also a best friend and constant companion to the one who shared life’s journey by his side. Together, they built what they lovingly called their “perfectly imperfect blended family,” a testament to Stuart’s ability to embrace love, loyalty, and togetherness. Beyond his family, Stuart was a well-known and respected figure in the pub trade. His career as a Landlord and Bar Manager spanned decades, with memorable contributions at establishments such as the 1-5-1 & Ashley Point, Peggotty’s, The Queens Head, The Tavern, and more recently, Kingfisher and Burgh Hall. His presence in these venues was not just professional but deeply personal, as he created spaces where friendships flourished and communities gathered. Stuart’s charisma, humor, and welcoming nature made him a cherished figure to many.
His passing is a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life, yet his legacy will endure in the countless lives he touched. Stuart’s courage in the face of illness, his devotion to family, and his commitment to community will remain an inspiration.
Funeral details will be shared in the coming days, as his loved ones prepare to honor his memory and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
Our deepest condolences are extended to Stuart’s family and friends. May they find comfort in the embrace of their community and strength in the cherished memories of his life.
